Markos Wholesale and Retail Apparel began with two brothers who immigrated to the United States in 1901.

They started their journey in Rochester, Pennsylvania where they began peddling their goods from door to door selling products to suit the everyday needs of their customers in rural and urban settings. The brothers made their way toward the Midwest, eventually settling in La Crosse, WI in 1911. Today, Markos Apparel continues the legacy of its founder, Salem Markos, whom many called a lovable, sincere and thoroughly upstanding gentleman.
